Blue is the Beauty

by Nawson

Blue is the beauty which helps mankind strive
It multiplies hope and it keeps us alive

Blue is the midnight of our mortal years
It intensifies tension and magnifies fears

The volcanic texture of orbiting high
The altitude limit, soaring the sky

Blue is pure emotion-euphoria, stress, ecstasy,
Of hope, heartbreak, despondency, ignominy

A vast subzero tundra, lapis lazuli
An aquatic cyan wasteland, flawless and free

Blue is the hue of eviction from life
Of dejection, depression, banishment, strife

The furious adrenaline which rises and falls
Is a deep blue presence which flows through us all

Our soul’s rapture, gentian as ice
Our spirit’s breath breezes, the beloved device

A maritime navy, an aqua tide,
A smooth cerulean, a sky cobalt dyed

Our lives are so dominated, so ruled by the blue
Saddened by society, hate, lies, death, rue.
