Don't forget to make a comment before your leave

A not so lucky break

By Pauly

There’s tempting provocation
I harbour in my thoughts
When I look at my payslip
There’s never enough noughts

If only on a payday
A big mistake they’d make
And put three extra zeros on
Their money I would take

A week in the Bahamas
A week in Corfu too
Then  a week in Tenerife
A week in Timbuktu

A trip to ancient Egypt
The guided tour and talk
A flight cross the Atlantic
A fortnight in New York

The three night stay in Vegas
St Peters Square in Rome
Pop up the Eiffel Tower in France
And then a quick trip home

Then hauled before the magistrate
To tell of my bad ways
Of all my stress free holidays
And my exotic stays

‘You took what wasn’t yours my boy’
The beak began to say…
‘you’ll pay it back with interest’
as I turned ashen grey….

‘before you leave this courtroom
and of your deeds you think….
Have another month off work,
I’m sending you to clink’

So as I sit here writing
In this dank darkened hole
As soon as I get out of here
I’m off to Limassol.......
