A total waste of ink!

By Pauly

I’ve taken now to writing
Words that fill my head.
I’ve put them all in order
So they’re more easily read

I notice words well written
By others with their prose
The poetry bug has bitten
And so my ramblings grow

And as these words fill paper
It makes me stop and think
Tell me if I'm making sense
Or am I just wasting ink

If no-one ever reads this
Guess I will never know
At least they’re for the offering
These words that seem to flow

And if you note my scribblings
They always seem to rhyme
Don’t knock me for this format
It’s stood the test of time

So Keats and Burns and Wordsworth
Sleep easy in their beds
To know I’ll never challenge
Their crowns on their sweet heads

Light heartedness abundant
In my poetic style
I’ll keep on wasting ink my friend
Long as it makes you smile....
