The Right Key

By Nikky Braithwaite

I have no key to this domain
And I can't break through

I have used up all my wiles and ways
I have tried all methods
But my head keeps hitting this brick wall
And it’s proving rather painful

I sat in the garden on a June afternoon
Drank a glass of wine
Mulled over all the difficult encounters
Tried to let loose my thoughts

Here I am, falling flat on my face
Open arms are flailing
Trying to catch the right pair of eyes
Blinking in the sunlight

I have no key to this domain
And I can’t break through

The door to your heart
