Does It?

By Jeff Morris

Is there any sense in banging your head against the wall?
Will you ever find the answers amongst portland cement and sand?
Or will you one day count the bruises and say I'm throwing in my hand?
I haven't even found the questions and life's never long enough
For philosophy and science and all that other stuff

Though deep in my heart I know that this is just frustration and anger
Impatience gets you nowhere as I've found to my cost
Rushing off to somewhere and then finding that you're lost

Just one more piece of driftwood in a sea of restless souls
You cannot settle scores unless you set yourself some goals
Well isn't that just another stupid thing to say
From the mouth of some slick preacher comes a teacher's sick cliché
Didn't they read the first line?
