Helen Mirren

By Terry Killeavy

The Dame is a lady, yes quite quite proper
As a child, she was known as "popper"

Born in a year when a world war ended
Born in a year when relations were mended

But still today she smiles like a queen
With her feminine way, as she's alway's been

Her parent hopes, they tried to preach her
But she would not become a teacher

Llynea Mironoff she was born, and for a career she changed both form.
So now as Helen, the stage was set, we didn't know how good she'd get.

Cleopatra, the roaring girl, a cook and a thief: we were in a whirl:
So many parts, so many places, to change her form, to change her faces.

So thank you Dame for what you've done
For giving joy, for being fun

And when it's time to leave the stage
I'm sure you'll turn another page.

Gold is rare and Diamonds too
But no Jewell is as rare as you !!
