I Saw A
Lovely Lady To-Day,
Thought She’d Long Gone Away,
Now I See She’s Here To Stay,
She Doesn’t Have Much To Say,
She Never Said That Much,
Looked Raw To The Touch,
Wonder What Her Problem Was,
Why She Failed To Feel The Buzz,
There’s A Darkness To Her Eyes,
Something She Struggles To Disguise,
I See She Finds It Hard To Trust,
Doesn’t Quite Have It Sussed,
She Lives In A World On Her Own,
Barely A Conversation On The Phone,
I Think She’s Now Found A Way Out,
A Way To Be Heard With-Out,
The Conversation She Most Fears,
That’s Dragged Her Down All Those Years,
Of Letting Some-One Get To Know Her,
Enough For Them To Cure Her Fears,
They Wouldn’t Help But Love You,
For Now I See Through, All Your Faults,
And Know It Wasn’t Your Fault,
That’s Because You'll Never Be
Seen To Me As My Enemy,
May-Be It’s Because I Know You So Well,
And In Time People Will Tell
Others That You Really Were Ok,
It’s Others Who Would Struggle To Say
Those Words Of Comfort To You
They Would If Only They Knew You.
The End. |
