Kissing in the Carport

by John Orca

Did I see you last night
Kissing in the carport?
And I saw you Sunday
Kissing on the forecourt,
Kissing just for sport.

All this after Friday
After we had argued,
All that awful fighting,
Struggling with crossed swords,
Hard and brutal words.

Did you see me looking,
Do it just to tease me?
Are we really awful?
Tell me that you love me,
Tell me, won’t you, please?

So I leave you laughing,
Leave you to your bloodsport,
Hanging ‘round your fathers’
Kissing on the forecourt,
Kissing just for sport.
