Who Bears His Name

by John Orca

And so he broke your heart again,
He left you standing by the steps.
He had a job, he went for gain
And you were shaking, you were left,
And you were not the same.

And so he broke your heart again,
You heard a rumour in the town
Of why he really left - the pain.
You had to watch him run around,
Your humours all aflame.

And so you promised - not again.
But you are not a vengeful type,
That's why he knew, that's why he came.
You couldn't send him on his bike,
And you were not the same.

And you who bear his name.
